Set Building
If you like working with a hammer and nails, you’re the one for this job! Whether you are a master carpenter or have no idea what a claw hammer is, we need you! Be a part of the team that builds the houses, castles, boats, and all that transport us to another time and place on stage!
Set Design/Realization
Are you artistic? Enjoy painting and decorating? After the set is built, this is the team that turns the set into a home, wooden forms into a lush forest, a blank canvas into rolling mountains, and papier-mâché into mighty boulders! If you have an eye for art, and enjoy creating and using your imagination, this is the place for you!
Costumes
Are you handy with a needle and thread? Enjoy sewing? We need your talents in costuming! Whether you want to design whole shows or be a part of the costume crew, we want you on our team! Work in our costume shop in finding the right stuff from our vast collection, or build costumes from your own imagination!
Make-Up/Hair
Did you enjoy getting into your mother’s make up when you were a kid? You may be just who we are looking for to help with our makeup! If you have a flair for makeup, take your talents a step farther and learn how to make up for different periods of time, for aging a person, and turning ordinary people into works of art, animals, and fantastical creatures!
Lighting/Sound
We are looking for creative technical people who enjoy designing and operating lights and sound equipment. The light and sound schematics of a production enhance the overall drama and reality of a show. It is more than just making sure the audience can see and hear the actors!
Musicians
We are always on the lookout for a great instrumentalist. We perform one musical in the spring and often one musical dinner theater throughout the year. We are looking for musicians who can commit to a few weeks of rehearsal including shows.
Stage Management
Are you a great organizer? Enjoy coordinating people to get a job done! Then we need your talents! We are looking for managers with great people skills who can motivate and lead a team of actors, backstage crew, costumers, light/soundmen, and others through controlled chaos.
Producers
Our producers are the backbone of any production! Are you detail-oriented? Enjoy problem solving, coordinating, and finding resources? If you enjoy organizing events and enjoy a fast pace, you are already a producer! Come be a Players Producer!
Backstage Crew
No show is a success without the people behind the scenes. It takes many people behind the set to make a show come alive! Set movers, curtain pullers, prop handlers, you name it!
Directing
The Waynesboro Players is always on the look out for new and talented directors. If you have directed before or would like to try your hand as an Assistant Director, let us know! We are looking for individuals with great skills at working with people, who have an eye for what works on stage, who can motivate actors and crew alike, and who knows how to make a production fun!
Acting
If you have tread the boards before, or have never set foot on a stage, but have always wanted to, come join us at tryouts! We have shows to fit every need – musicals, drama, comedy, you name it!
Publicity
Are you clever with words or would just like to help put up posters? We would love to have you on our publicity staff!
Ushers
Do you like meeting and greeting? Then volunteer to be an usher for as many performances as you like! After your job is done, relax and enjoy the show!
